This bread comes to mind first when I leave spotty bananas on the counter and the bread that is in constant rotation in my freezer. It’s the best banana bread recipe ever, and if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s time.
Moist Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread
I have tried many basic banana bread recipes and this is my favorite. Readers are in love too! What makes this so great? This banana bread has the most banana of any banana bread I’ve ever made before. 2 full cups of banana puree, which is about 4 large bananas. More banana adds more moisture and flavor to the finished product.
Did you know you can use your electric mixer to mash bananas? Mash or cut the speckled bananas into large chunks and place them in the bowl of your mixer – or use a regular bowl and the hand blender. Start on low, then gradually increase to medium-high speed as the bananas break down into banana puree. Transfer the bananas to another bowl and use the mixing bowl for the banana bread ingredients. (You don’t need to clean it – a little leftover mashed banana is fine.)
For banana bread, add 3/4 cup chopped walnuts to the banana bread; I like to use pecans or walnuts. I absolutely love the sweet, toasty and light crunch inside the banana bread crumbs. Feel free to leave it out completely if you are not a fan of banana bread!

When the dough is ready, spray a 9×5 pan with nonstick spray and line it with parchment paper. The baking paper is completely optional, but it will make it much easier to remove the bread from the tin.
