Recipe For Banana Cream Pie Using Instant Pudding – If you are a fan of banana cream, today is your lucky day! I’m a big fan of pies, but to be honest, I almost never make them at home – it always seems like too much work!
But I made this no-bake banana cream cake because I wanted to see how easy it felt compared to making a cake from scratch (and if it turned out good!), and I have to say, yes it would.
Recipe For Banana Cream Pie Using Instant Pudding
You can make a few changes to make it easier (or add a little more effort in spots) to suit your taste and time level, but either way, I know it will be fun!!
No Bake Banana Cream Pie
With a little effort, you can change the flavor by using a chilled or frozen crust instead of a graham cracker crust.
You have to bake this crust and let it cool completely, so it’s not really a no-bake pie, but it’s still a great alternative if you don’t like graham cracker crust.
When it comes to the pudding, you can use banana cream or vanilla pudding depending on how heavy you want the banana flavor to be. I love banana pudding so this was an easy choice for me.
I’m not a cool whip person myself, but if that’s your jam and/or you don’t feel like whipping cream, you can totally sub in a whipped topping like your cake.
Mile High Banana Pudding Pie
My daughter had fun watching me make this cake and she was even more excited to eat it once it was set! We all dig in once it’s ready, and O.M.G. it was
It really amazed me that something so beautiful and polished came out of such little effort and it’s something I would make for a gathering or dinner if I knew how quick, easy and delicious it was.
Also, if you don’t like the tin foil look that the prepared crust comes in, you can always put everything in a pretty pan like I did and use a gold cake server, making it instantly official. .
Maybe some pretty pink plates too?? Are you still a fan of no-bake cakes? If so, what do you like to do? xo Laura

Just because something is functional or 100% homemade doesn’t mean it’s the best. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be hard, and sometimes shortcuts are delicious. Let’s stop being martyrs here. I used to think like you. I used to make absolutely everything from scratch. And there are a lot of things I just make from scratch, but if there’s a better, easier way to make them, that’s usually what I do.
Take banana cream pie, for example. I used to make it with a homemade crust and a homemade pudding that literally took an hour to stir in a hot oven. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but Emily’s sister’s recipe for banana cream pie is amazing. It tastes just like Magnolia Bakery’s banana pudding (ie.
Magnolia Bakery in New York City). And it’s a million times easier than at home. But you fanatics out there are asking me – “Jello pudding? Pre-made graham cracker crust? There’s no way it tastes good.” To which I said, “Yes way.” Live life on the side, take it out for Easter dinner this Sunday, and be ready for everyone to love you Because hey, the best way to win friends and impress people is with food! 🙂
Old Fashioned Banana Cream Pie Just Like Grandma’s (with Video!)
The best part of this recipe is the pudding, which isn’t smart, but you need to make sure you get two things right: Make sure the pudding is instant and that it’s 3.4 oz. Package (serving size 4.)
If you want to play with flavors, that’s great—I always use vanilla because I hate artificial banana flavors, and vanilla pudding will take the banana flavor out of the banana, but you can go wild and crazy and use butterscotch, cheesecake, chocolate— Wherever your cute little brain takes you.
You’ll also need sour cream, bananas, 2 8-serving graham cracker pie crusts (you can use chocolate or blue wafers if you’re in the mood), sweetened condensed milk, and powdered sugar.
Mix well and refrigerate for a few minutes to chill. In another bowl, whip 1 cup heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Slice the bananas (maybe 4-5 small bananas or 2 large bananas) and place them under the crust.
File. Remove the pudding from the fridge and carefully drizzle the whipped cream over the pudding.
Prepare sweetened sour cream with remaining sour cream and 1/3 c. powdered sugar and spread it over the two pies.
Cover the pies with plastic wrap and let them cool for a few hours. This is really important – I tried eating it straight once and the cake wasn’t banana and the moisture didn’t penetrate the crust, so the crust fell apart.

Now divide the mixture between two pies. Wash pudding bowl and beaters and set aside for later.

If possible, just before serving, combine the remaining heavy cream and 1/3 cup sugar in the bowl you mixed the pudding and beat with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Spread over pie. (If you can’t do this right before serving, it’s best to make the whipped cream after putting the pudding mixture in the shell.)
Mix in 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter pudding/water/sweetened condensed milk (before folding in whipped cream). Proceed as directed but place one chocolate chip cookie in the crust. Drizzle roasted peanuts with honey before serving. This recipe has the delicious taste of old-fashioned bananas but is made in minutes. It only takes 5 ingredients and is an easy no-fuss dessert!
One of my favorite pies is banana cream pie. My husband’s grandmother makes this every year for the Thanksgiving menu (along with about a dozen other pies) and it’s always a kid favorite.
I was surprised when I heard it was easy to do! Not only is it delicious during the holidays, but it makes a great summertime whip because you don’t have to heat up the kitchen with a hot oven.
