Yes! But it’s not your traditional light and fluffy bread ( this one here ), it’s a baking soda based bread.

So let’s talk ingredients… we know there’s no yeast or eggs, so what are these easy homemade breads? Just five simple ingredients and a refrigerator:
If you don’t have milk readily available, you can easily make your own! Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to a wet measuring cup, then add milk (any variety) up to the “1 cup” mark. Stir the mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes until it melts and thickens slightly. Continue the recipe as directed.
When you whip up a loaf (or four), don’t stop there! Soda bread makes wonderful grilled cheese, as well as homemade croutons and even bread pudding.
The safe answer is “up to two weeks.” Since this is homemade bread, there is no protection. If you want to freeze the bread, let it cool completely, then wrap it very securely in plastic wrap. Place a loaf in a resealable plastic bag and squeeze out as much air as possible before resealing the bag and refrigerating.

Make the Recipe This easy yeast-free bread can be started and finished in less than an hour! No need to get up. Go to: Video Power Grammar Adaptation Frozen Dough Recipe Communication Ideas There’s nothing like the smell of warm homemade bread fresh from the oven. It is associated with a happy feeling, happiness. I think we could all use more. Traditional homemade bread uses yeast, but if you don’t have any or the stores are all sold out, don’t panic! This delicious yeast-free bread is made using baking powder! This bread is more like a rustic country bread than a light and fluffy sandwich bread. Of course, you can make sandwiches with it! And serve with buttered toast (oh my goodness.) tomato soup or beef stew and you have a wonderful, hearty dinner! As the video ingredients promised, you only need 4 basic ingredients to make this bread! 3¼ cups (390g) flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 ½ cups non-dairy milk Make sure your baking powder is still active! To test it, put a teaspoon of baking powder in a bowl, then pour ½ cup of very hot water over it. If it burns too hard, the baking powder is good to go! If not, open a new can of baking powder or make a DIY version if you like it! Instructions The best part of this bread is how easy it is to make! Without yeast, bread does not need to rise, and very little is needed. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the vegan milk. Knead the dough for a minute or two until it forms a cohesive ball. If it is sticky, add some more flour. If it is too dry, add some milk. Place the dough ball in the center of the baking sheet. Roll it out to form a disc about 1½-2 inches thick. Fold the dough into an X shape. With 5 to 10 minutes left, brush on the vegan butter to get a nice, golden brown color. Let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Adaptable Self-Rising Flour: If you can’t find all-purpose flour, you can make unleavened bread with self-rising flour. Since self-raising flour contains baking powder and salt, omit them from the recipe. Mix 3 ¼ cups self-raising flour with 1 ½ cups non-dairy milk. Whole Wheat Flour: Substitute 3 cups of whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour in this recipe. You can use half whole wheat, half all purpose. Milk: Any sweet or non-dairy milk will work in this recipe. Water can also be used instead of milk. Frozen Dough If you want to make several loaves ahead of time, you can freeze this bread dough for up to 3 months. Then form a disc, then wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag or container. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before baking, according to the instructions on the recipe card below. Storage Homemade bread does not have preservatives, so it will not last long if left on the table at room temperature. I usually only leave my bread out for a day. After that, store it in the fridge or freezer. Note that after the first day the bread is not very sticky. You can put the bread in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes to get that crusty top back. Did you enjoy this recipe? Please leave a comment and a ⭐ star rating below!
