Best Banana Bread With Frozen Bananas – Don’t toss those overripe bananas in the trash just yet—you can freeze them and make delicious baked goods without compromising the finished product. In fact, when you use frozen fruit, making banana bread is easier than ever.
A bunch of bananas can take five days to fully ripen on the counter. After ripening, you can transfer them to the refrigerator for an additional five to seven days until they ripen a bit to rest. When this happens, you can freeze it for three months in several ways. It is best to remove the peel beforehand, as peeling a pre-frozen banana can be difficult and somewhat rough – the skin turns black and the banana becomes too loose as it thaws. Instead, it’s easier to peel the bananas you want to keep and store them in a labeled freezer-safe bag. If you plan to make more smoothies than baked goods, it is possible to freeze banana slices for easy measuring. Just be sure to freeze them in a single layer on a baking sheet before transferring to a container for storage. In this way, the individual pieces do not stick together.
Best Banana Bread With Frozen Bananas
What do you do with bananas after they are frozen? There are many banana bread recipes that also work with frozen bananas. There are also many vegetarian recipes that rely on bananas instead of eggs, and frozen fruit works well in them too. In fact, thawing frozen bananas can create a very thick substance that is very easy to mix with dry goods. However, it’s a good idea to read the recipe ahead of time to make sure it doesn’t directly call for fresh bananas. The good news, though: most of them won’t be! And once you’ve got the perfect recipe — like this one — just thaw your bananas in a bowl at room temperature and they’ll be ready in no time.

Moist Banana Bread Recipe With 4 Easy Tips
This banana bread recipe has been a go-to of mine since 2013! Yes, I have tried other recipes, but I always come back to this one. I won’t lie if I say that I make this quick bread recipe almost every week and it never lasts more than 3 days!
However, over the years I’ve discovered that overripe bananas make good banana bread I can’t stop eating!
Because when thawing, bananas become super soft and runny. And all these juices are gold! Do not discard the liquid, it makes the bread moist and delicious.
When you have lots of dark spots on nice and ripe bananas, put them in the freezer. (And yes, black bananas are perfectly fine to use!)
Our Favorite Banana Bread
Use a very large bowl to prepare the dough. I use a 4 qt bowl (the largest bowl in this set).
To test for doneness, insert a long wooden skewer or toothpick. If it comes out clean, it becomes bread!
And if you want to make a half batch (just 1 loaf or 12 muffins), follow my banana muffin recipe. Same recipe, but for half the batch.
I always put them in the fridge though. Mainly to keep them out of sight or they will be gone in a few hours.
