However, you would never know from the taste. Why I Love Banana Apple Oatmeal Bread I’m a fan of quick bread recipes. There is a time and a place for baking yeast, but lately I haven’t had that time. So this recipe, made with bananas, apples, oats, flour, almond milk, and a few other ingredients, comes together quickly and is made with ingredients I usually have on hand. 🥘 Ingredients for this recipe Ripe bananas Applesauce Almond milk Egg Honey Vanilla All-purpose flour Oatmeal Cinnamon Baking soda Salt 🔪 Instructions for this recipe First, preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Next, prepare the wet ingredients. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas. Then mix applesauce, milk, egg, honey and vanilla. Then, mix the dry ingredients. In a large bowl, mix the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Then, mix the water and dry. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining oatmeal on top. Finally, bake that bread! Bake for 60-70 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Cool on a rack before slicing and serving. Best healthy bread FAQs Can I make banana bread without sugar? Yes! The recipe calls for no sugar and only uses a small amount of honey. The honey can be omitted if you prefer not to use it. The sweetness comes from the bananas and applesauce. Substitution Notes: Plant-based or cow’s milk will work in this recipe. Applesauce can be homemade, store bought, sweetened, or unsweetened. Honey can be omitted. An egg can be replaced with a flax egg to make a vegetarian recipe. All-purpose flour can be completely replaced with wheat or a 50/50 split.
