Once the batter is ready, coat a 9×5 pan with non-stick cooking spray and line it with baking paper. The parchment paper won’t change completely, but it will make it much easier to remove the bread from the pan.
Easy Banana Nut Bread (healthier)
Then, take the shells in the prepared pan and put them in the oven for about an hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out. I like to let my bread cool in the pan after 20 minutes, then remove it from the pan to cool completely on a wire rack.
The best type of banana for this recipe is the regular banana in most places. If your bananas are still green or only yellow, then I suggest waiting a little longer.
If you need to speed up the process and whiten bananas quickly, place them in a black paper bag for 1-3 days. Ethylene gas will collect in the bag and be released around the banana, quickly bleaching it.
You can store this banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. While it is not necessary to store banana bread in the refrigerator, it will help keep it fresh for a while. If you need to keep it for a few more days then I recommend keeping it in an airtight container in the fridge.

Yes indeed! To freeze the bread: wrap the bread tightly in cling film and store it in a freezer bag or container in the fridge for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to enjoy it, let it sit on the counter for a few hours or overnight to come to room temperature.
To freeze some pieces: cut the bread and put it on a line lined with baking paper, then put the tray in the fridge for two hours or until the pieces are cold. Place frozen portions in a bag or container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Individual portions can be refrigerated at room temperature or frozen portions can be heated in the microwave for 20-30 seconds at a time or until warm.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Really Easy Air Fryer Banana Bread (mini Loaf!)
To freeze some slices: place the slices of bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and put the baking sheet in the refrigerator for two hours or until the slices are cold. Place the frozen portions in a bag or container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Oil: If you only have salt on hand, reduce the salt in the recipe to 1/4 teaspoon.

Bananas: Ripe bananas, that’s good! You will need 4 large bananas or 5 medium bananas to get 2 cups of whole bananas. Hands down, you’re going to love this banana restaurant. It has a smooth and moist texture and is full of flavors from bananas and walnuts.
Nut Free Banana Bread
I grew up in South Africa, where bananas grow a lot. Most of the banana plantations are located on the east coast, where the high humidity provides the best environment for banana cultivation. It’s common to walk through a banana grove and see bunches of bananas covered in blue plastic bags.
I always thought bananas were covered in those blue bags to keep wild monkeys away. However, after researching this post, I found it to be truly helpful. When ripe, bananas release a gas called ethylene, and covering the bananas in this way allows the ethylene to reach the banana, making it whiter faster. Who would have thought it?
Since bananas are abundant in South Africa, people tend to come up with different ways to use them. A special recipe that comes to mind is the banana salad, which is prepared by mixing whole milk, mayonnaise and curry powder with fresh banana. I haven’t tried it myself, but it sounds delicious. However, I highly doubt it will ever find its way to this site.
One banana I will share though, is this quick and easy Banana Walnut Bread. It’s quick to mix, and has a surprisingly smooth and moist texture, with an extra flavor from the walnuts. I’ve seen people spread oil on banana bread, but trust me this recipe doesn’t need anything else at all. One slice of delicious banana bread and you’ll be hooked, making it over and over again.
Cranberry Banana Bread
Now here is a tip for cooking bananas. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but bananas are usually sold pre-packaged in plastic bags. There is a reason for that. Bananas are picked when they are still green, leaving the whites in the air. Plastic keeps oxygen away from bananas, and actually increases their shelf life. If you want your bananas to ripen faster, remove them from the plastic bag as soon as you get them home. Learned in a few days.
Anyway – enough of that – let’s get to the recipe. You can find a complete list of ingredients and complete instructions for making this banana bread in the banana bread recipe card at the end of this post.
You will need a 10cm x 20cm (4″ x 8″) pan. I lined mine with baking paper, but you can use regular baking paper. Line the pan with baking paper to make it easier to remove the cake after baking. If you don’t have a baking sheet, you can lightly grease the bread with butter.
If you use the size pan I recommend, the cake will rise to about 8 cm (or 3 inches) If you use a larger pan, the banana bread will obviously not rise as much, and you will need to bake it shorter. time

Allow the banana bread to cool completely, then wrap in a piece of greaseproof paper or parchment paper, cover with foil and place in a large plastic bag in the refrigerator.
To install, remove all packaging, cover with a clean cloth and leave to defrost at room temperature.
