Simply put, banana ice cream is “ice cream” made from frozen bananas! I call it “ice cream” because even though it’s not technically ice cream, it still has the same creamy and delicious banana flavor! It’s called “good cream” because it’s a healthy version and it’s made from “naner,” as some people call bananas.
You can make banana ice cream, but again, it’s not technically ice cream. Traditional ice cream is made with sugar, cream, and sometimes even eggs. Banana ice cream? It’s just a banana!

You only need two things to make banana ice cream: frozen bananas and a food processor/power blender. And it takes 5 minutes to make!
Freeze your bananas. Be sure to peel and cut them before freezing to make them easier to assemble!
Add them to your food processor. I like to use a food processor because I don’t have to add liquid to blend, so it stays creamy. But you can also do this with a blender – just make sure you have a blender with a spout so you can swirl the ice cream.
A simple, one-ingredient recipe for soft-serve banana ice cream. This recipe can be modified with different flavors, but it is a classic recipe!

Here is a very easy banana ice cream recipe. Is it really ice cream? Not at all. But it’s perfectly creamy and a great substitute for real ice cream. Obviously, it will contain no dairy products, and no excess fat and calories. If you’re watching your calories, this is a great dessert! Bonus: You don’t need an ice cream maker to make this recipe.
This recipe is from The Everything Easy Dash Diet Cookbook by Christy Ellingsworth and Murdoch Haleghi, MD. This book contains 200 recipes aimed at weight loss and healthy eating. The “Dash Diet” (closer to the hypertensive diet) is a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, as well as low-fat dairy products. The cover claims that the Dash Diet can help you lose weight and reduce your risk of diabetes, as well as lower your blood pressure. I’m always looking for healthy cookbooks on my shelves, regardless of what diet plan I’m following (or not). So I’m glad I was able to add it to my collection.
All you need to make this one ingredient banana ice cream is a blender or food processor and a bunch of ripe bananas. The more brown areas on your banana, the better. Old bananas are delicious. Good!
Banana Ice Cream (1 Ingredient Banana Dessert)
Cut the frozen bananas into chunks and place them in the bowl of a food processor or blender.
Remove the mixture and serve immediately. This is your one-ingredient banana ice cream. This is nothing new. This method has been around for a long time. But this is a great discovery. Some people call it Banana Nice Cream instead of ice cream. I think I will put in my chocolate sauce or salted caramel sauce. Is this allowed?? Enjoy yourself.
