Simply put, banana ice cream is “ice cream” made from frozen bananas! I call it “ice cream” because even though it’s not technically ice cream, it still has the same creamy texture and delicious banana flavor! It’s called “better cream” because it’s a much healthier version and is made with “nanners,” as some people refer to bananas.

You can make ice cream with bananas, but again, it’s not technically ice cream. Traditional ice cream is made with sugar, cream and sometimes even eggs. Banana ice cream? Just bananas!

But if you are a banana lover, this will satisfy your ice cream craving. Banana ice cream is creamy, silky, delicious and totally easy to make!

You only need two things to make banana ice cream: frozen bananas and a food processor/high blender. And it takes about 5 minutes to do!

Freeze your bananas. Make sure to peel and slice them before freezing for easy blending!

Add them to your food processor. I like using a food processor because I don’t have to add any liquid to blend so it stays creamy. But you can also do this in a blender – just make sure you have the tamper type so you can stir the ice cream.

Add the bananas and cherries to a food processor and process until they begin to cream. Add the avocado and cocoa powder and continue to process until smooth. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Although the recipe is described as simply frozen banana cream, it takes on many of the characteristics of homemade banana ice cream. The texture is thick and creamy, definitely cold and most importantly, delicious.

There’s no reason not to enjoy this recipe as a healthy alternative to ice cream for breakfast, a snack, or an after-night dessert.

Continue shimmering, stopping only to scrape down the sides as needed. Then before your eyes, the bananas suddenly take on a creamy texture.

Serve this banana ice cream immediately after making it for best results. If you freeze it, it loses its consistency, making it very difficult to get it out.

However, if you really need to pop it in the freezer after making it you can add alcohol or condensed milk to make scooping easier.
