I’m always looking for new air fryer recipes, so this is my favorite way to make banana chips!

With a deep fryer, I recommend using firm bananas that are hard to cook. Clean and finely slice the banana and soak the slices in lemon water for five minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees. Spray the inside of the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray to make sure the chips don’t stick. Place the rice in a single layer in the air fryer and fry for 12 minutes.

Tip: Do this in layers if necessary so they don’t touch each other on the same layer.

How To Make Banana Chips

To make chips in the dehydrator, prepare a bowl with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Slice the bananas evenly and add to the bowl. Allow to soak for 5 minutes before adding to the dehydrator tray.

Dehydrate at 135 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 hours. After 10 hours, flip the chips and dehydrate for another 2 hours or until dry.

We prepare the bananas in the oven in the same way as in the dehydrator, letting them soak in lemon juice for five minutes before placing them in a single layer on a sheet of paper.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 2 hours or until dry, stirring after 30 minutes.

Air Fryer Banana Chips

Prepare the banana chips again as above, dipping them in lemon juice. Place in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for 1 minute. Drizzle with oil and season if desired
