Banana Bread With Yogurt And Applesauce

It’s no secret that I love a good loaf of banana bread. Whenever I have leftover bananas in my pantry, I already know what I’m going to do with them. I’ve come up with a lot of variations over the past few years and I like to keep trying new things to turn things around. Enter the banana bread with the yogurt recipe.

Whole Wheat Banana Bread

Have you ever baked with yogurt? It will change your cookies for the better! Take this quick bread – its texture is moist, smooth in the center and has nice soft crumbs. It’s so sweet and full of banana flavor, you wouldn’t even know it had yogurt in it!

I love this signature banana bread because it’s relatively low in fat! A small amount of butter is used for a more moist texture. Don’t worry though, it’s still considered low in fat!

Begin by adding the dry ingredients to a small bowl and mixing them together. In a mixing bowl, add banana, maple syrup, yogurt, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Carefully add the dry ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix until completely combined. If you are using a walnut, fold it through.

Now transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and bake at 180°C/350°F for 50-60 minutes or until a mostly clean skewer comes out. Remove the Banana Yogurt Bread from the oven and let it cool completely in the skillet before slicing and serving.

Whole Grain Banana Bread

To freeze: Place the slices of bread in a zip-top bag and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
