I love making banana bread because, even though it only takes an hour or so, most of that time is baking time. It only takes 10 minutes to make the dough and pop it in the oven, which makes this bread perfect to make if you’re always busy!

Preparation: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 pan and line it with parchment paper (where it hangs over the edge) to remove the bread easily. Set aside.

Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.

Easy Banana Bread

I’m a trial and error, self-taught, sugar addict who luckily learned how to survive in the kitchen! I am also a wife, mother of 3 children. The way to make super moist and healthy banana bread is to use extra virgin olive oil and FOUR WHOLE BANANAS, with white and whole wheat flour in the recipe!

I love a good banana bread. But it’s easy to try to bake one and it comes out dry and bland. Not with this recipe! This super moist banana bread recipe is not only DELICIOUS, but healthy!

There are a few tricks to making the best moist banana bread. Using olive oil helps keep it moist, as does using LOTS of bananas – I used four, which also helps sweeten the bread naturally. This means there isn’t a lot of sugar in the recipe, but it’s still decadently sweet.

This banana bread recipe also uses white AND whole wheat flour, which helps increase nutrition but maintains a light and fluffy texture.

Spiced Banana Bread Recipe

I LOVE using olive oil for baking. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that olive oil is one of the healthiest fats out there, and cooking with olive oil goes really well with Mediterranean food. But health benefits aside, I just like it better than butter in many cases.

Using oil for frying makes things moister than using butter. And best of all, it stays moist for days afterward, while foods baked with butter tend to dry out faster.

I also love that you don’t have to soften or melt it from its solid state – just pour olive oil into a bowl and you’re good to go!
