Well, on to the recipe! I found a simple banana bread recipe to get you started and it’s back! Ironically, I prefer my banana bread not too much. So I lowered the number of bananas, replaced the applesauce and cinnamon, and added more spices for more flavor.
Applesauce Oatmeal Bread
I am very happy that this happened! This banana bread with apple sauce is thick, yet the bread is so moist! It cooks evenly and doesn’t leave it moist or medium like many other recipes I’ve tried.
First, preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9-5 cake pan with flour.
If you don’t have apple juice on hand, you can substitute it for a total of 2 1/3 c. Banana mashed. But, apple juice is really the main ingredient to make thick, but moist banana bread!
When all the wet ingredients are mixed, mix them into the dry ingredients. Stir it gently with your hand, and soon it will be wet. Too much stress will result in hard bread!
Moist Applesauce Bread (w/whole Wheat Flour)
After all the ingredients are combined, pour the prepared mixture into the pan. Bake on the center rack at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or slightly moist.
After 30 minutes, check to make sure the surface of the cake is not over browned. If so, a thin layer of tin should be annealed on top.
Remove from the oven when fully cooked and allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing the banana bread from the pan and transferring to a wire rack.
I made my banana bread which doesn’t seem to be baking properly. For either the top of the soft dough is completely burnt, or it is taken out of the oven and sinks. This banana bread with apple sauce is moist and dense for the perfect piece of banana bread!
