This bread is based on another oat bread recipe from this collection. But this recipe uses the ideas of a master baker to create delicious, crunchy breads.

Had Some Local Honey, Figured It Needed To Go In Some Whole Wheat Oatmeal Honey Bread.

You can double this recipe, but make the loaves the same size as the loaves are very moist. It takes time to grow; start after dinner the night before, and the next afternoon you will bake the bread.

Note: The hard crusts you want are made by steaming. You can steam it in the oven for the first 5 minutes. Place the pan on the rack under the stone and pour 2 cups of boiling water into it after placing the bread in the oven.

Spray the sides of the oven with water from the nozzle 2 or 3 times in the first 5 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400 F and bake for about 30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 190 F.

The bread will freeze to dry, so let it cool for at least 2 hours before slicing or it will look like it’s sprouting on the inside.

I don’t like it at all. Not the worst. It will definitely happen. I’m a fan—I recommend it. Unbelievable! I love it! Thanks for the rating! 1. Repeat the 100% starter to get +200 grams for the next morning. The room temperature during the night can be 60F. Use 50g wheat, 50g AP, 100g H2O and 30g natural yeast with 100% hydration.

2. Pour 600g of boiling H2O over 300g of steel-cut oats in a pot or bowl with a lid or lid. Stir in the oats once and cover. Leave to soak for 45 minutes.

6. In a small bowl, add 50 g of remaining oat water (add more water if necessary) to 25 g of kosher salt. Set aside.

7. Add 1 kg of AP flour to the water and pour it into the dough bowl. Mix by hand or with a mixer until all the flour is combined. The dough may be hard.

9. Add salt and water to the dough by hand. When the salt water is added, make a series of strips and fold. Return it to the bowl and let it rest for 30 minutes. Make a series of jumps and overlaps. Let it stand for 30 minutes.

10.  Add the oats. Roll out the dough on a damp surface. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Add the oats through the foil. [In the center of 1/3 of the dough, sprinkle 1/3 of the rolled oats. Fold the last 1/3 of the dough over the oats. Spread 1/3 of the oats in the middle, and fold the last 1/3 of the dough into the middle. turn the dough over and sprinkle 1/2 of the remaining oats in the center. Fold the end into the middle, sprinkle the rest of the oats into the middle and fold again.]  Give the dough a little toss to make sure the oats are evenly distributed. Return the dough to the bowl. Cover and let rise at 70F until doubled (maybe 3-4 hours).

11. Roll out the dough with a little flour. Split it in two. Roll into a ball and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shape into logs (for oval bread) or rounds (for boules) depending on whether you’re making it in a round or oval dutch oven (or a Romertopfs oval, like me). Gently roll (no seams)  the top of the shaped dough into the rolled oats to cover the surface and shape the edges. Let it test for about 1 hour 30 minutes at 70F.

12. At the 1 hour and 30 minute mark, place the dutch oven in the oven and preheat to 500F for about 30 minutes. Remove dutch oven, invert bread onto dutch oven, label, place in dutch oven, cover and place in oven. Reduce oven temperature to 475 F and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid from the dutch oven and bake for 25-30 minutes at 450F. Leave to cool completely. Although they are ready to eat when completely cooled, the loaves will keep well, uncut, for 1-2 days as the moisture from the toasted oats is absorbed into the dough. ingredients in one bowl! No refined flour (only oat flour), butter or milk!

Happy Monday friends! Over the past year, the oatmeal bread recipe has exploded in popularity. This recipe has great reviews in the comments section and on Pinterest. You guys LOVE the taste and love that we don’t use flour, oil or refined butter. However, one of the most common questions I get is how to make this recipe less sweet.

After so many requests for a sweet version, I decided I had to try a few and see what I could do. I know it will be difficult to reduce bees because bees are like binders. I followed a reader’s suggestion that reduced the honey and used hemp as a binder. I made several versions to correct this as even small adjustments to the amount of salt, flax and honey made a big difference in the final result.

Best Ever Oatmeal Bread Recipe With Molasses

There were two good versions, so I had trouble deciding which one to put. I know many of you wanted the honey-free version, but in our opinion (Mr. Hungry and I), the best version is the one with two tablespoons of honey in the whole loaf (reduced to 1/2 cup of the first version), so this is what I’m posting today!

The honey really balances out the saltiness and earthiness of the flaxseed oatmeal. This bread is perfect with sandwich ingredients like avocado, lunch meat and cheese. I think it’s better to make an open sandwich, because it’s a bit crumbly for a regular sandwich, it’s a bit sticky if you toast it in the toaster oven! It’s also delicious with a little melted butter (if you don’t have dairy)! Also, if you can’t get your hands on an oatmeal recipe, be sure to check out these amazing desserts!

One more thing before we get to the recipe, let’s talk about the ingredients if you have any more questions.

Oatmeal – I prefer to make my own, but you can also buy it. Make sure it is finely ground with a food processor. Check out this article for step-by-step instructions on how to make oatmeal.

Original Non-Dairy Milk – Non-dairy milk will work here, but you want the original unsweetened version, not vanilla. I’m not sure if cow’s milk is okay because it’s high in fat and protein. If you don’t have skim milk, I just use water.

Honey – you can turn corn syrup into honey. You can leave out the honey, but a little sweetness helps balance out the bread and create a classic sandwich flavor.

Drug Land – DON’T. Flax acts as a binder instead of honey in the honey version of oats, NOTHING. Plus, it’s good for you!

Eggs – I haven’t tried substituting more flax or chia eggs. One of the versions I tried had more cannabis and I didn’t like it. Flax can be too much. The egg helps bind and helps the bread rise a bit, so I’m not sure if removing it is okay. If you try it, let us know in the comments!

In the image below you can see a slight difference in colors between the two versions. The honey oat version is a darker brown (bottom right corner) and the savory version is a little lighter and red in color.
